Bhubaneswar, Odisha: In a significant step towards advancing digital literacy, skill development, and community empowerment, Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited (OKCL) and Rotary International District 3262 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly implement a range of impactful educational and community development initiatives across Odisha.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Manoranjan Puthal, Managing Director, Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited (OKCL) and Rtn. Anil Kumar Samal, Retired IAS, District Governor, Rotary International District 3262, in the presence of senior officials and Rotarians.

The strategic partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both organizations to enhance Digital Literacy, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Capacity Building, Teacher Professional Development, Student Skill Development, Employability Enhancement, Internship Facilitation, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Community Learning Programmes throughout the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Manoranjan Puthal, Managing Director, OKCL, stated that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering citizens with future-ready skills and creating inclusive learning opportunities. He emphasized that by combining OKCL’s expertise in technology-enabled education with Rotary’s extensive volunteer network and community outreach, the partnership will significantly contribute to building a digitally empowered and knowledge-driven Odisha.

Rtn. Anil Kumar Samal, District Governor, Rotary International District 3262, highlighted that education and literacy have always been among Rotary’s core areas of focus. He expressed confidence that this collaboration would enable Rotary Clubs across the district to deliver meaningful programmes in digital literacy, AI awareness, teacher training, youth employability, women’s empowerment, and community development, thereby creating a lasting social impact.

A structured implementation framework will facilitate the onboarding of Rotary Clubs across RI District 3262, enabling them to organize localized programmes for school students, college students, teachers, women, youth, senior citizens, and community volunteers. A joint monitoring mechanism and digital platform will also be established to ensure effective implementation and impact assessment.

This partnership aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the vision of Digital India, and the Government of Odisha’s efforts to promote digital inclusion, lifelong learning, and technology-enabled education.

With this collaboration, OKCL and Rotary International District 3262 reaffirm their commitment to building a sustainable ecosystem that empowers individuals through knowledge, innovation, digital skills, and community service, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic development of Odisha.
