Bhubaneswar, July 10, 2026: Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited (OKCL) conducted a one-day AI Capacity Building Workshop for 40 employees of Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) here today, aimed at equipping officers across engineering, HR, and administrative functions with practical, ready-to-use artificial intelligence skills for their daily work.
The workshop was led by Dr. Ansuman Sar, Senior Program Manager, OKCL, who walked participants through ten real OPTCL-specific scenarios — from summarising lengthy technical documents and converting maintenance SOPs into visual workflows, to checking tender compliance against grid code regulations and drafting meeting minutes from audio recordings. Sessions covered a range of AI tools including NotebookLM, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Sarvam AI, with each tool mapped to a specific, practical use case relevant to transmission, asset management, and HR operations.
The entire training programme was coordinated by Mr. Sachikanta Rout, Senior Program Manager, OKCL, who oversaw logistics and ensured smooth execution of the day-long session.
Officers were introduced to structured frameworks for using AI responsibly and effectively, with particular emphasis on verifying AI-generated content before use in official work. Participants responded enthusiastically to the hands-on format. Several officers described the workshop as “eye-opening” and “immediately applicable,” particularly appreciating the live demonstrations.
