The achievement has drawn praise and congratulatory messages from leaders, lawmakers, and public figures across the world, highlighting his role in shaping India’s political and economic trajectory.

Having first assumed office in May 2014, Modi is currently serving his third consecutive term after the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance secured victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. His uninterrupted tenure has now surpassed all previous records for an elected prime minister in India.

Among the first international leaders to extend greetings was Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with India. The Sri Lankan leadership described the occasion as a significant democratic milestone and expressed confidence in continued bilateral cooperation.

From Southeast Asia, Anwar Ibrahim praised Modi’s years of public service and leadership. He noted that the Indian leader’s tenure has played a key role in advancing India’s development, prosperity, and growing influence on the global stage. Ibrahim also emphasized Malaysia’s desire to deepen cooperation with India in the years ahead.

In the United States, lawmakers acknowledged the impact of Modi’s leadership on both India’s growth story and bilateral relations. John Cornyn highlighted India’s rapid economic expansion and poverty reduction efforts during Modi’s tenure, describing it as transformational. He also pointed to the strengthening of strategic ties between India and the United States.

Similarly, Bill Hagerty commended Modi for helping build a comprehensive and globally significant India-US partnership. According to Hagerty, relations between the two democracies have reached unprecedented levels under Modi’s leadership.

International singer and cultural ambassador Mary Millben also joined the chorus of congratulations.
