India produced a dominant bowling display against Pakistan in the Women’s Asia Cup, dismissing their rivals for just 55 runs at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday.
Left-arm spinner N Sree Charani and leg-spinner Prema Rawat claimed three wickets each as Pakistan suffered a dramatic batting collapse. After reaching 27 without loss, Pakistan lost wickets rapidly and were bowled out in 18.1 overs.
Charani was particularly impressive, finishing with figures of 3/7, while Rawat returned 3/9. Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma also contributed with important wickets as India’s disciplined bowling attack exploited the turn and grip available from the pitch.
Only openers Shawaal Zulfiqar and Muneeba Ali managed to reach double figures for Pakistan. India’s bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the innings, forcing Pakistani batters into risky shots.
Pakistan’s total became their lowest-ever score in Women’s T20I cricket, leaving India needing only 56 runs for victory.
