Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Teachers’ Day urged students to stay focused on their studies and career goals instead of spending excessive time on social media. Addressing students at the Teachers’ Day programme at Secondary Board High School in Cuttack, he advised them to avoid propaganda and concentrate on learning new skills.
Majhi highlighted the important role teachers play in shaping responsible citizens and called for stronger, friendlier relationships between teachers and students. He also encouraged students to seek guidance and blessings from their parents and teachers.
The Chief Minister outlined several education initiatives, including the government’s KG-to-PG free education scheme. He said Odisha is working to strengthen school infrastructure through the construction of 2,200 Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Vidyalayas and the opening of 45,000 Sishu Vatikas.
He also highlighted plans to fill 45,000 teacher vacancies over the next three years, reaffirming the government’s focus on improving education across the state.
