Bengaluru Police have registered a case against five caregivers at a daycare centre inside Capgemini Technology Services India Limited’s Brookfield campus. The case was filed after videos allegedly showed toddlers being physically and mentally abused.
The FIR was registered on June 29 at the HAL Police Station following a complaint from a district child protection officer. The accused caregivers have been identified as Manjula, Vijayalakshmi, Bhavani, Sindhu, and Bindu.
According to the complaint, the workers allegedly frightened crying children by placing them inside washing machines. They were also accused of forcing toddlers into narrow water-filled pipes, locking them in bathroom spaces, and using other forms of intimidation.
The children belonged to employees working at the IT campus. Police said the videos raised serious concerns about the safety of the daycare facility.
The Whitefield Division police have started an investigation and will question the accused caregivers.
Following the incident, Capgemini temporarily closed the daycare centre. The company said the safety and well-being of employees and their families remain its top priority. It also said it is fully cooperating with the authorities.
