Mumbai: Television actress Shivangi Joshi has revealed that binge-watching cartoons from her childhood remains one of her simple guilty pleasures, offering a glimpse into her off-screen life during a recent podcast appearance.
Speaking on Honestly, Why Not, a podcast by Balaji Telefilms, the actress shared that animated shows such as Oswald, Noddy and Doraemon continue to be her comfort watch even today. She added that she also enjoys watching Barbie movies, describing them as feel-good content that has remained a constant in her life.
Asked about any guilty pleasures or hobbies she indulges in privately, Shivangi said she enjoys revisiting the cartoons she watched as a child. “I binge-watch cartoons. The ones I watched when I was little—Oswald, Noddy, Doraemon. Even now,” she said, adding that she also likes doing “nothing” in her free time. “When I’m not working, I like to sleep, stay in my room, and just do nothing,” the actress noted.
The 27-year-old began her television journey with a cameo role in Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi and made her full-fledged acting debut in 2013 with Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi. She went on to appear in popular shows such as Beintehaa, Begusarai and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which established her as a household name.
Shivangi later portrayed Anandi Chaturvedi in Balika Vadhu 2 and featured in Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka. Most recently, she was seen in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 4, the fourth installment of the franchise, alongside Harshad Chopda. The show explores themes of healing from past trauma, trust, revenge, and the complexities of love, including storylines involving a fake marriage and parental opposition.
During the same podcast, the actress also shared her views on love and dating, stressing that values matter more than professional backgrounds. “What truly matters is the person—the respect, understanding, love and values they bring into a relationship. The profession really doesn’t matter,” she said.
