Late-night meetings between leaders from both Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) factions and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis have triggered fresh political speculation.
NCP (SP) state president Jayant Patil first met Sharad Pawar at Silver Oak in Mumbai. Later, he held a meeting with Fadnavis. Around the same time, ruling NCP leaders Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel also met the Chief Minister. No leader revealed the purpose of these discussions.
The meetings come as the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) faces a major political decision. Reports suggest that some of its 10 MLAs believe joining the BJP-led NDA could help secure faster development funds for their constituencies. However, Sharad Pawar has not announced any decision.
The ruling NCP is also dealing with internal challenges. A legal notice has questioned the election of Sunetra Pawar as party president. While the party has rejected the allegations, the issue has raised fresh debate within the organisation.
Political observers believe these developments could influence Maharashtra politics in the coming months. For now, both NCP factions remain silent, leaving room for more speculation about their future plans.
