Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has urged women beneficiaries across the State to participate in the ‘Aashirbad Ka Diya’ initiative by lighting a lamp on the evening of September 17, 2026.
The initiative was discussed during a review meeting chaired by Parida, where Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Cluster Level Federations, GPLAFs, Lakhpati Didis, Producer Groups and other women-led organisations were encouraged to take part.
Mission Shakti Secretary Mansi Nimbhal and Director Dr Monica Banerjee attended the meeting along with senior officials. Representatives from all 30 districts, including CDOs, BDOs and members of SHGs and federations, joined virtually.
Parida said each lamp would symbolise women’s strength, dignity and aspirations while reflecting their contribution to Odisha and the nation. She linked the initiative with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Viksit Odisha 2036.
The programme forms part of the Odisha Government’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan–2026’, scheduled from September 17 to October 17. The month-long campaign seeks to encourage service, community participation and social responsibility across the State.
