Noida, June 15: Noida International Airport achieved a major milestone on Monday as it welcomed its first commercial flight, signaling the beginning of operations at the much-awaited aviation hub in Jewar.

An IndiGo aircraft arrived from Lucknow at 7:58 a.m., becoming the first flight to land at the airport. Shortly afterward, the airport witnessed its first departure as another IndiGo flight took off for Lucknow at 8:19 a.m.

The inaugural outbound flight carried several dignitaries and residents from the Jewar region, whose land was acquired for the airport’s development. Among the passengers were Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh and senior officials of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).

The launch of flight operations marks a significant step in strengthening connectivity across western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region. Authorities believe the airport will provide greater convenience for business travelers, students, professionals, and tourists.

Developed as a modern greenfield project, Noida International Airport is designed to function as a multimodal transport hub, integrating air travel with road and other transportation networks. The airport is expected to play a key role in boosting economic growth, investment, and regional development in the years ahead.
