The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow warning for light rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in parts of Odisha. The alert was released by the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar at 10:05 pm on Friday.
The warning covers Khordha district, including Bhubaneswar city, along with Puri, Jagatsinghpur, and Cuttack district, including Cuttack city. The weather conditions are expected to continue for the next three hours.
The IMD said light rain, along with light thunderstorms and lightning, may occur at one or two places in these districts. Residents have been advised to stay alert and monitor weather updates. People should avoid open areas during thunderstorms and plan outdoor activities carefully.
The department urged the public to take necessary precautions if weather conditions worsen. The Yellow warning is meant to help people stay prepared and reduce the risk from lightning and thunderstorms.
