The Central Government has ruled out the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak controversy. Government sources said there is no question of him stepping down. They added that resigning would mean avoiding responsibility instead of solving the problem.
According to the sources, the government will focus on improving the National Testing Agency (NTA). Officials have identified several shortcomings in the examination system. Corrective measures are expected to be introduced soon.
The government also said that multiple paper leak gangs have already been busted. More action against those involved is likely in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has continued its protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The group is demanding Pradhan’s resignation and stronger examination reforms. It has also sought compensation for the families of students affected by the NEET controversy and the withdrawal of cases against protesters.
Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh held another round of talks with CJP representatives. The government said it would consider the demands and continue discussions. At the same time, the Centre is preparing stricter laws to curb examination fraud and prevent future paper leaks.
