What first appeared to be a tragic accident at Pune’s Lohagad Fort has now turned into a shocking murder case. The breakthrough came from CCTV footage showing a man wearing a hoodie on a hot June day when temperatures touched 33°C.
Police spotted the hooded individual following businessman Ketan Agarwal and his fiancée, Siya Goyal, shortly before Ketan fell nearly 400 feet into a gorge and died. Investigators found the man’s unusual clothing suspicious, leading them to identify him as 22-year-old Chetan Chaudhary.
Further investigation revealed that Chetan had allegedly left his phone at his workplace to avoid being tracked and used another phone during the trip. Authorities also uncovered extensive communication between Siya and Chetan, including thousands of calls exchanged over time.
According to police, Siya and Chetan were allegedly involved in a relationship and planned Ketan’s murder because Siya did not want to marry him but was unwilling to cancel the engagement due to family concerns. Investigators believe the plan was executed on June 18 at the fort.
Both Siya and Chetan are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
