Greater Noida: England produced a composed run chase under pressure to defeat India by five wickets in the third Mixed Disability T20 International at the Shahid Vijay Pathik Stadium, taking a 2–1 lead in the five-match series.
Opting to bat first, India posted a competitive 147 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks largely to a resilient knock from Majid. The batter anchored the innings with an unbeaten 76 off 54 balls, striking three fours and five sixes while holding the innings together after early setbacks.
Support from the rest of the batting line-up was limited. Yogendra Bhadoria chipped in with 16 runs, while Akash Singh (10) and Ravindra Sante (11) added brief but useful contributions. England’s bowlers kept things tight, with Jordan Williams spearheading a disciplined attack that struck at regular intervals and restricted India from accelerating in the final overs.
In response, England timed their chase to perfection, reaching 148 for 5 with just one ball remaining. Wicketkeeper Angus Garant Brown set the platform with a rapid 61 off 28 deliveries, smashing five boundaries and six sixes to put India on the back foot early.
Josh Price steadied the innings during the middle overs with a composed 29, before Henry John provided late impetus with an unbeaten 30 off 17 balls. Captain Callum Flynn stayed calm at the crease, finishing on 20 not out as England sealed the victory.
India’s bowlers fought back at intervals, with Ravindra Sante and Vivek Kumar picking up key wickets, but England’s depth and composure in the chase proved decisive.
The win gives England a crucial 2–1 advantage in the series. The remaining two matches will be played in Jaipur, where India will aim to bounce back and force a decider.
