Apple has acknowledged display problems affecting a small number of its newly launched iPhone Duo foldable phones and is offering replacements to affected customers.
Reports of broken inner screens emerged on social media just days after the device went on sale. Users shared images showing cracks and lines near the central hinge, with some complaints appearing after only limited use.
Apple confirmed that it was aware of the issue and advised affected customers to contact AppleCare for a replacement. The company has not yet officially disclosed the exact cause of the display failures.
Repair experts at iFixit have suggested that pressure around the hinge mechanism could be responsible. Their analysis indicated that a support component near the display cable might create excessive stress on the screen when the device folds. However, the explanation has not been confirmed by Apple.
According to the report, customers experiencing the specific manufacturing defect may qualify for a replacement even without an active AppleCare+ subscription. Buyers are advised to contact Apple directly for assistance.
The issue has emerged amid strong initial demand for Apple’s first foldable smartphone. While the replacement offer could help address customer concerns, the display problem presents an early challenge for the company’s entry into the foldable phone market.
Apple has not disclosed how many devices are affected or whether the issue could impact future shipments.
