A new report has claimed that some US Secret Service agents are frustrated with Vice President JD Vance’s frequent last-minute travel changes. The report, published by MS Now, says these sudden requests have increased pressure on the security team.
One reported incident involved a request to fly Vance and his young son on Marine Two for a golf lesson. The trip was later cancelled because of severe weather. Former officials told the publication that such a request had no known precedent for previous vice presidents.
The report also claimed that Vance’s office often changes travel plans at short notice. These “off the record” movements require agents to quickly adjust security arrangements and cancel planned time off. Some officials reportedly said the repeated changes have affected team morale.
In response, the Vice President’s office praised the Secret Service for its professionalism. It said protecting a vice president with a young family creates unique challenges and thanked agents for their service.
Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn also defended the agency, saying agents understand the demands of protective assignments and remain committed to ensuring the safety of those under their protection.
