Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the people of India for standing united during the recent global energy crisis triggered by the US-Iran conflict. He said the support and trust of 140 crore Indians helped the country overcome a difficult period.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister thanked citizens for rejecting rumours, fear, and attempts to create instability. He said public confidence played a key role in helping the nation face the challenges caused by global disruptions.
Modi also highlighted the government’s response to the crisis. He said India acted quickly by assessing the situation, preparing an effective strategy, using resources wisely, and strengthening diplomatic efforts to reduce the impact on the country.
The Prime Minister added that the determination of “New India” helped the nation successfully manage one of the biggest energy challenges in recent years.
Speaking at the inauguration of India’s first new oil refinery in a decade, Modi announced that the country would continue expanding its crude oil refining capacity. He said stronger refining infrastructure is essential for ensuring long-term energy security.
The government believes increasing domestic refining capacity will help India meet future energy needs while reducing the impact of global supply disruptions.
