President Droupadi Murmu is set to begin a two-day visit to Odisha, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi joining her on Saturday for a series of important events in the state.

The President is scheduled to arrive in Rairangpur on Friday and inaugurate the new AIIMS Satellite Centre, a project expected to improve healthcare access in the region.

On Saturday, which also marks President Murmu’s birthday, she and the Prime Minister will visit her native village, Pahadpur. The leaders will pay tribute to her late husband, Shyam Charan Murmu, and later interact with students and young professionals at a local Skill Development Institute.

The visit will also coincide with celebrations marking two years of the BJP government in Odisha. A public programme is scheduled in Dandabose, where several development projects are expected to be launched. New railway initiatives and industrial projects are also likely to be announced.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other senior leaders are expected to attend the event. Both President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi will address the gathering before returning to New Delhi.

The visit is being seen as a significant occasion for Odisha, highlighting development, infrastructure growth, and skill-building initiatives in the state.
