India will host the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy in 2027, with Mumbai and Vadodara selected as the two host cities.
The six-team T20I tournament will be held from February 14 to 28. Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka will compete in the event.
The Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium will host the matches. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with every team playing the other five sides. The top two teams will qualify for the final on February 28.
Pakistan will not feature in the tournament, as qualification was based on the ICC Women’s T20I rankings.
Sri Lanka was originally awarded hosting rights, but the ICC later transferred the tournament to India amid ongoing governance reforms within Sri Lanka Cricket.
The event will further strengthen India’s position as a major host of international cricket and provide another significant platform for the growth of women’s cricket globally.
