India successfully conducted the test launch of the Agni-4 medium-range ballistic missile from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha’s Balasore district on Thursday. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the launch achieved all planned operational and technical objectives and was carried out under the supervision of the Strategic Forces Command.
Agni-4 is a two-stage, surface-to-surface ballistic missile powered by a solid-fuel rocket motor. It has a strike range of up to 4,000 kilometres and is capable of carrying nuclear warheads, making it an important part of India’s strategic defence system.
The successful test highlights the reliability and operational readiness of the missile. Defence officials said the trial further enhances India’s credible deterrence capability and reinforces the country’s strategic preparedness.
The Agni-4 launch follows a series of successful missile tests conducted this year, including the Agni-Prime and Agni-3. These developments reflect India’s continued efforts to modernise its defence capabilities and strengthen national security through advanced indigenous missile technology.
