The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will hold an important meeting on July 6 in Ayodhya. All trustees have been called to discuss the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Dr. Anil Mishra.
Both leaders resigned from their official posts on June 27 after allegations of donation fund embezzlement came to light.
According to the trust’s rules, a two-thirds majority is needed to accept any resignation. Even if the resignations are approved, Champat Rai and Dr. Mishra will remain lifetime members of the trust. They will only lose their official responsibilities.
Meanwhile, the Faizabad Bar Association has demanded an FIR against Champat Rai, Dr. Mishra, and the temple construction in-charge Gopal Rao. Lawyers have warned they will approach the court if police do not register a case.
Champat Rai has reportedly blamed his former driver, Ramshankar “Tinnu” Yadav, for the alleged donation theft. He claimed Yadav misused his trust and played a key role in the scam. Police have already arrested Tinnu Yadav along with seven other accused as the investigation continues.
