Shri Biranchi Das has assumed additional charge as Director (HR) at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) with effect from July 1, 2026. He will hold the additional responsibility while continuing as Director (HR) at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).
A graduate of Utkal University, Shri Das began his professional career with MCL. He has nearly three decades of rich experience in human resource management, industrial relations, and employee welfare. During his career, he has contributed to strengthening HR policies and maintaining healthy industrial relations.
He has also led several initiatives focused on employee welfare, skill development, and organisational growth. His people-centric approach has been widely recognised within the coal sector.
His appointment is expected to further support MCL’s efforts to strengthen its human resource practices and improve employee engagement while contributing to the organisation’s overall development.
