The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has extended support to actor Satendra Soni. The association has asked the Madhya Pradesh government to register an FIR against the makers of Ped Palki. It has also demanded a fair and quick investigation.
The demand comes after Soni shared an emotional video on social media. He claimed that he and several other artists did not receive their full payment. He also alleged that they were threatened when they asked for their pending dues.
According to Soni, he travelled to Maihar for the film’s shoot. He said he received a signing amount of Rs 50,000. However, he claimed the remaining payment was not made even after working for eight days.
The actor further alleged that the team asked them to leave the hotel after they requested their money. He also claimed they received serious threats during the dispute.
AICWA said the allegations are serious and should be investigated without delay. The association added that every artist and worker deserves timely payment, respect and a safe working environment.
Later, Soni shared another video confirming that he had safely returned to Mumbai. He thanked the Maihar Police, actor Ashutosh Rana and everyone who supported him during the incident.
The controversy has sparked fresh discussions about the rights of artists and working conditions in the film industry. So far, the makers of Ped Palki have not issued any public response to the allegations.
