Cuttack: All educational institutions in Cuttack district will remain closed tomorrow as Odisha steps up precautionary measures ahead of Cyclone Arnab.

Cuttack Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde has ordered the closure as the district administration prepares to deal with the possible impact of the approaching cyclone.

Around 300 shelters have been readied across the district, and residents living in low-lying areas have been directed to move to safer locations.

Three Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) teams have been deployed to handle emergencies. The administration has also opened two control rooms to monitor the situation and coordinate response measures.

Pregnant women are being shifted to safer places as a precaution. Arrangements have also been made to ensure the availability of food and drinking water for people who may need shelter.

The district administration has completed necessary preparations to respond to any cyclone-related emergency. Residents have been advised to follow official instructions and cooperate with evacuation measures.
