Electric vehicle buyers often focus on one number—range. But as EV ownership grows, battery durability and long-term performance are becoming equally important.
E-Went is trying to shift attention towards battery life with its electric scooters. Its 2.5 kWh battery is rated for up to 1,300 charge cycles and comes with a four-year or 55,000-km warranty. The 1.8 kWh battery is rated for 1,100 cycles and carries a three-year or 45,000-km warranty.
The company says its Smart Battery Management System monitors battery health and provides protection against overheating, overcharging, deep discharge, and other electrical risks. Bluetooth-based diagnostics can also help check battery and cell status without opening the scooter.
Designed for Indian conditions, E-Went’s battery systems feature IP67 protection, high-temperature-resistant connectors and fire-resistant housing.
The company claims a warranty claim rate below 1.5% over three years, with more than 20,000 vehicles on Indian roads.
For EV buyers, the bigger question may no longer be just how far a scooter travels on one charge, but how reliably its battery performs over the years.
