The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a fresh youth protest march in Delhi on September 5, alleging that the Centre has failed to fulfil commitments made during the withdrawal of the student movement on July 25.
According to CJP spokesperson Saurav Das, the peaceful march will begin at India Gate and proceed towards the New Delhi Police Headquarters. He said the protest would be led by families of NEET students who died by suicide, along with victims of the July 20 police action.
The CJP had launched its agitation on June 20 over alleged irregularities in the examination system and the NEET-UG paper leak. The movement intensified after a July 20 march towards Parliament turned chaotic following a police crackdown.
The agitation was called off on July 25 after the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and assurances from the government on several demands, including compensation for bereaved families and withdrawal of FIRs against protesters.
The CJP has now accused the Centre of failing to implement the agreed terms. Das warned that the party would not accept what it described as a “betrayal” of Gen Z protesters and affected families.
The announcement comes amid an ongoing dispute over the implementation of the July 25 understanding, with the CJP demanding concrete action on FIR withdrawals and other assurances.
