Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati has urged Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) probationers to gain a thorough understanding of Central and state welfare schemes to improve public service delivery.
Addressing 31 OAS probationary officers of the 2023 batch at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, the Governor said officers should stay connected with people and understand local challenges. He stressed that this approach would help ensure government benefits reach every eligible citizen.
He advised the officers to study key schemes such as PM Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, and other major welfare programmes. He also encouraged them to spread awareness about social security schemes and motivate people to enrol.
Highlighting economic challenges, Kambhampati spoke about India’s dependence on crude oil imports and called for greater use of electric vehicles and rooftop solar power. He said sustainable practices can reduce fuel consumption and support the country’s economy.
The Governor also praised India’s resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, saying innovation and digital transformation helped the nation overcome difficult times. The program started with a welcome speech by Dr. Monalisa Lenka, Deputy Director of the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration.
