Two students from Jamia Millia Islamia found an unexpected way to attend Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Friday, despite arriving without tickets.
Wahib and Tanzeem had gone to the venue hoping to find affordable passes. Outside Gate 14, several fans were searching for extra tickets, while sellers negotiated prices with potential buyers.
The students eventually met a woman who had two additional Gold-section tickets. Originally costing over ₹9,000 each, the tickets were initially offered for ₹20,000 together. However, after failing to find buyers, she reduced the price to ₹10,000.
The two students then made an offer of their own, explaining that they had only ₹4,000 between them. Surprisingly, the woman agreed to sell both tickets for that amount.
“Students hain, inka bhala hoga,” she said, expressing her willingness to help them enjoy the concert.
For Wahib and Tanzeem, the unexpected bargain turned a hopeful wait outside the stadium into an opportunity to watch their favourite Punjabi singer perform.
Their experience highlighted the informal ticket exchanges and last-minute bargains that unfolded outside the concert venue.
