Mumbai: Three suspects have been apprehended in Rajasthan’s Kota in connection with the firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s BMW in Mumbai. Two adults have been arrested, while a 17-year-old boy has been detained.
The suspects have been identified as Rehan, a resident of Haryana, Hrithik Kumar from Bihar, and the juvenile from Haryana. A joint team of Rajasthan’s Anti-Gangster Task Force and Kota City Police traced them to the Railway Colony area after receiving information from Mumbai Police. They reportedly reached Kota aboard the Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express at around 10.15 am. Police have also detained two additional people in connection with the case.
Mumbai Police have registered an attempt-to-murder case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant provisions of the Arms Act. The investigation has now been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening in Juhu when a 36-year-old actor was leaving after a football match. The attackers allegedly fired several rounds at his BMW. Shroff escaped unharmed, but his driver, Firdaus, and an autorickshaw driver identified as Chauhan sustained injuries.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the shooting and issued threats against people associated with Salman Khan.
Investigators are analysing CCTV footage, ballistic evidence and the recovered motorcycle to establish the suspects’ roles and identify any other individuals involved.
