Bhadrak: The death of a retired nurse in Bhadrak has taken a suspicious turn after her family alleged foul play in what was initially reported as a suicide.
Kumudini Mahapatra, a retired nurse, was found hanging at her residence under Banta block in Bhadrak town on Monday morning. She had been living with her husband, Rajeev Lochan Mohanty, a retired government employee.
According to preliminary reports, the couple had an argument on Sunday night. Mahapatra was discovered dead early the next morning. While initial indications pointed towards suicide, her family has raised doubts and alleged that she was murdered.
On receiving information, Town Police reached the spot and began an investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Police officials said further action will be taken based on the medical report and findings of the ongoing probe.
