Chennai: Actress Manisha Yadav, who has been conferred the Tamil Nadu Government’s State Film Award for Best Actress for the year 2016 for her acclaimed performance in Kali Rangasamy’s film Oru Kuppai Kathai, has expressed her heartfelt gratitude following the announcement.
Taking to her Instagram a week after the awards were announced, Manisha described the honour as deeply meaningful and said the recognition inspires her to pursue greater artistic excellence.
In her statement, the actress extended her sincere thanks to the Government of Tamil Nadu and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for the prestigious recognition, and appreciated the selection committee for acknowledging her work. She also thanked film critics and audiences for appreciating her performance.
Manisha further expressed her gratitude to her film unit, particularly director Kali Rangasamy and producer Aslam, for placing their trust in her for the role that brought her the accolade.
The actress revealed her excitement for the upcoming awards ceremony, scheduled to take place in Chennai on February 13, where the winners will be formally presented with their honours.
The Tamil Nadu government had last week announced the State Film Awards spanning seven years, from 2016 to 2022. Each recipient will be presented with a gold medal, a memento and a certificate at the event, to be held at Kalaivanar Arangam Auditorium.
