The demonstration, called by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, is scheduled for Friday at 5 pm. The party has also appealed for simultaneous Tricolour marches in other cities.
Delhi Police have urged people to stay away from the proposed gathering, citing prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). However, police said a group of 11 people could be allowed to carry the National Flag and sing the National Anthem at a suitable location.
The Delhi High Court on Thursday refused to restrain the planned protest but recorded the police’s assurance that necessary steps would be taken to maintain order and minimise disruption to local businesses.
The march follows the arrest of CJP members Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who were remanded to five days of judicial custody over alleged violations of peace bonds and trespassing at Jantar Mantar.
Security has been strengthened across Connaught Place, with police and paramilitary personnel expected to regulate movement and prevent any untoward incidents.
