Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said the younger generation should now take greater responsibility in public life, noting that he can no longer work as much as he once did.
Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Gadkari said he had spent around three decades in public life and had experienced several ups and downs during his journey. He said the new generation should be given opportunities to carry the work forward, while senior leaders continue to guide them.
Gadkari also spoke about the development challenges ahead, saying the scale of work in Maharashtra would increase in the coming years. He highlighted the goal of ensuring electricity reaches every tribal village in the state and that development is visible across Maharashtra.
His remarks come days after the BJP announced a major organisational revamp under party president Nitin Nabin. The new 65-member national team includes 51 new faces, indicating a significant generational change within the party.
The organisational changes have also led to speculation about a possible reshuffle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Union Cabinet.
Gadkari’s comments have therefore drawn attention amid discussions about the BJP’s future leadership structure and the growing role of younger leaders in the party and government.
