Puri: A shocking incident has come to light in the Kumbharpada area of Puri, where a woman is suspected to have been killed and her body concealed beneath the kitchen slab of a rented house.
According to the house owner, Manorama Sahu, the woman and her son had rented the house around two months ago. The son reportedly left the area on Sunday, while there was no information about his mother.
The suspected crime came to light after the house owner noticed a strong foul smell coming from the kitchen. She subsequently informed the police.
Authorities suspect that the woman’s body may have been hidden beneath the kitchen slab and covered with plaster. Wastewater and other material were also reportedly seen on the kitchen floor, adding to the suspicion.
Police have begun examining the house and are expected to conduct further investigation to determine whether the woman was murdered and how her body was concealed.
The whereabouts of the woman’s son remain unknown. Police are also working to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
