Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a three-hour nowcast warning for rain, thunderstorms and lightning in several parts of Odisha.

According to the IMD’s 7 pm bulletin, light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are likely at a few places across Anugul, Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Cuttack, Puri, Khordha, Sundargarh, Kendrapada and Deogarh.

Cuttack and Bhubaneswar cities are also likely to experience rainfall and thunderstorm activity during the forecast period.

The weather office advised residents to remain cautious as thunderstorms and lightning can develop quickly. People have been urged to stay indoors during lightning and avoid open areas.
