India ended Day 2 of their warm-up match against Sri Lanka XI at Stumps, trailing by just six runs. Devdutt Padikkal was the star of the day with an unbeaten 142.

Ravindra Jadeja also made a valuable half-century for India. Sri Lanka XI’s Asanka Manoj and Ramesh Mendis picked up wickets to keep the pressure on the Indian batters.

Gurnoor Singh provided a thrilling finish to the day’s play. He smashed four sixes in the final over to race to 89 and bring India closer to Sri Lanka XI’s total.

Gurnoor started the over with a powerful slog sweep over deep midwicket. He then hit the next delivery straight over the bowler’s head.

After a dot ball, he launched two more huge sixes. The final hit travelled well beyond the boundary.

His aggressive finish kept India firmly in the contest. Padikkal remained unbeaten at the other end as India closed the day strongly.

At Stumps, India were 357/6 after 90 overs. Padikkal was unbeaten on 142, while Gurnoor Singh was unbeaten on 36.
