Bhubaneswar: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Odisha in October to attend the proposed ‘Chhatra Ki Gunj’ programme in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhakta Charan Das said on Tuesday.
According to Das, the party has sent a proposal for Gandhi’s visit. Around 20,000 young people are expected to attend the programme, which will focus on issues affecting Gen-Z.
Das also said the Congress is preparing a series of programmes in Odisha ahead of the upcoming Panchayat elections. A statewide padayatra is scheduled to begin from Nabarangapur on October 2, with Congress workers participating in the campaign.
He added that Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and the Karnataka Chief Minister are expected to visit Odisha between January and February as part of the party’s wider political campaign.
A major youth-focused programme is also planned in Bhubaneswar in October, where issues concerning young people are expected to be discussed.
