Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has clarified that farmers do not need to complete AgriStack registration to sell paddy during the Kharif Procurement Season 2026-27.
The decision was taken at an Inter-Ministerial Committee meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. Ministers and senior officials from the Agriculture, Cooperation, Food Supplies, Revenue and Finance departments attended the meeting.
The government said the registration process will remain open until October. Farmers without AgriStack registration will still be eligible to sell their paddy. Both registration slips issued to farmers, with or without AgriStack registration, will be accepted.
AgriStack provides registered farmers with a unique Farmer ID and is designed to make access to government services easier. Around six lakh farmers have registered so far.
The government is also preparing separate guidelines for sharecroppers to address registration-related difficulties.
Odisha purchased 20.46 lakh metric tons of paddy from 3.63 lakh farmers for the Rabi season of 2025–2026. The state has so far released ₹4,844 crore towards MSP and input assistance for 3,63,149 farmers.
The government has set a target of registering at least half of the farmers for the upcoming Kharif season. Registration is being carried out through nearby PACS and CSC centres.
As of now, 94,657 farmers have registered, with Balasore reporting the highest number.
Authorities will conduct awareness campaigns at the subdivision and Gram Panchayat levels. Village Agricultural Workers will also help farmers complete the registration process.
The government said its priority is to ensure that no farmer is prevented from selling paddy because of registration-related issues.
