Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday handed appointment letters to 1,326 newly recruited candidates at the 16th Nijukti Mela in Bhubaneswar.
The recruits were selected for posts across nine government departments. They include 364 Junior Engineers in the Housing and Urban Development Department and 361 Junior Engineers in the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department.
The appointments also include engineers and trainees in the Energy Department and OHPC, Assistant Agriculture Officers, Assistant Professors, Livestock Inspectors, Junior Coaches, Instructors and Excise Sub-Inspectors.
Majhi urged the new employees to treat public service as their main responsibility. He asked them to listen respectfully to citizens and resolve their grievances without delay.
The Chief Minister said 45,408 people had received government appointments since June 2024. He also highlighted the state’s efforts to attract investment and create jobs.
According to Majhi, Odisha has attracted investments worth nearly Rs 21 lakh crore over the past two years, with the potential to generate around 20 lakh jobs. He also said 38 MoUs worth Rs 66,392 crore were signed after his recent food-processing investment outreach, with an estimated 54,135 jobs.
Majhi called on the new recruits to remain honest, dedicated and free from corruption as Odisha works towards its development goals for 2036.
