Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, approved 11 important proposals covering six government departments during its 45th meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan on Saturday. The decisions are aimed at strengthening governance, infrastructure development, public services, and welfare initiatives across the state.
Chief Secretary Anu Garg briefed the media after the meeting, stating that the proposals reflect the government’s continued focus on improving administrative efficiency and accelerating developmental programmes.
The Water Resources Department accounted for the highest number of approvals, with five proposals receiving the Cabinet’s nod. These are expected to support the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance irrigation infrastructure, improve water management, and strengthen flood mitigation measures.
The Housing and Urban Development Department secured approval for two proposals intended to improve urban infrastructure and civic services.
In addition, the Cabinet cleared one proposal each from the Finance Department, the Law Department, the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department, and the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department. These decisions are expected to contribute to fiscal management, legal reforms, social welfare, and agricultural development.
While the Cabinet has approved all 11 proposals, detailed information regarding their implementation, financial implications, and beneficiaries will be released separately by the respective departments.
The meeting highlighted the state government’s emphasis on coordinated policymaking and timely decision-making to support Odisha’s development agenda. The approvals are expected to facilitate smoother execution of key projects and welfare programmes in the coming months.
